Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization

Heart of Sharjah
The Heart of Sharjah is the largest historical preservation and restoration project in the region. Planned over a 15-year period, to be completed by 2025, it seeks to revitalize the heritage district as a vibrant cultural destination by restoring historical buildings, constructing new structures following traditional Sharjah architecture, and transforming them into hotels, restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and markets, where current and future generations can experience Sharjah’s cultural and social fabric. The project includes landmarks such as Al Hisn Fort, Souq Al Arsah, and Souq Shanasiyah. Visitors can explore restored souks, traditional homes, and museums, offering a glimpse into Sharjah’s rich history and heritage. The Heart of Sharjah stands as a testament to the emirate’s commitment to preserving its cultural identity.






Al Noor Island
Al Noor Island, nestled within Sharjah’s Khalid Lagoon, offers a serene escape blending nature, art, and architecture. Accessible via a pedestrian bridge near Al Noor Mosque, the island invites visitors to explore its lush landscapes and innovative installations. A highlight is the Butterfly House, home to over 500 exotic butterflies, providing an immersive experience into their vibrant world. Sharjah Aquarium
Sharjah Aquarium, situated in the Al Khan Old area, offers an immersive journey into the diverse marine life of the Arabian Gulf. Spanning 6,500 square meters over two floors, the facility houses 20 aquariums containing approximately 1.8 million liters of water. These tanks replicate various local aquatic environments, including coral reefs, mangroves, lagoons, and rock pools, and are home to over 150 marine species such as reef sharks, sea rays, seahorses, and clownfish. Beyond showcasing marine biodiversity, the aquarium emphasizes conservation through initiatives like a marine nature reserve established in 2009 and educational programs addressing marine pollution and overfishing. Visitors can also enjoy interactive experiences like shark feedings and touch pools. The aquarium operates from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday to Thursday, and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Fridays. Ticket prices are AED 25 for adults and AED 15 for children aged 2–12, with free entry for children under 2.


Al Majaz Waterfront
